We at Sami, strictly adhere to Quality Control at every stage of manufacturing, raw material testing, in-process quality checks and finished product examination.

The QC laboratory is equipped with sophisticated analytical instrumentation for the chemical and physical parameter evaluation of raw materials and products.

 
     
 

High Performance Liquid Chromatographs (HPLC) with UV and photo diode detectors are used to assess the purity and content of non-volatile organic compounds.

High Resolution Capillary Gas Chromatograph (GC) with flame ionization detector is used to assay volatile organic compounds.

A Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR) for the identification of various functional groups is available.

Instrumentation for routine quality checks such as appearance, moisture content, pH, physical properties and consistency are adequately available. These include.

 
 
   

 

     
   
UV and visible spectrophotometer
IR moisture balance, Kal-Fisher apparatus (for moisture content determination)
pH meter (to measure acidity/alkalinity)

Apparatus to measure bulk density

Grading sieves for article size estimation
Equipment to perform wet chemical, gravimetric and titrimetric analyses.
 
 
     
  Reputed commercial testing laboratories are utilized to perform analytical procedures for which instrumentation is unavailable at SAMI. These include the following test:  
 
   

 

     
   
Gas Chromatograph -Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS)

Proton (H1) and C13 NMR Spectroscopy

Elemental analysis for Carbon, Hydrogen and Nitrogen.
 
 
     
 
   
The QC laboratory is manned with a team of highly qualified and experienced personnel. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), approved record-keeping and documentation procedures (for method validation) are carefully maintained. Product documentation such as specifications and Certificate of Analysis are prepared and reviewed periodically by the QC scientists
 
     
 
   

Quality review of finished products, calibration of analytical instruments and performance checks on equipment and instrumentation are done at regular intervals.
