It’s a proud moment for Sami-Sabinsa Group, as our responsible and sustainable innovations are garnering worldwide acclaim. Sabinsa Nanjing Biotech (the Chinese arm of Sami-Sabinsa Group) has won the prestigious 2023 Technology Innovation Award at the 3rd Food Formula Innovation Show for its breakthrough product LactoSpore® – Weizmannia coagulans MTCC 5856(Bacillus coagulans). Top global corporations as well as Chinese homegrown majors from the functional food, food, and dairy product categories presented their innovations at this forum. Out of 150 new technologies and projects presented at the forum, 20 submissions, including Sabinsa Nanjing’s, were recognized, and awarded. These innovations were evaluated based on criteria including degree of innovation, cost optimization, market value, and customer benefits.

The prestigious lifetime achievement award was presented to Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Founder and Chairman, Sami-Sabinsa Group in recognition of his exemplary services in the nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals industry. The award was presented by ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India) on the occasion of Ayush Mela which is one of India’s largest virtual exhibition and conference related to Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy which was held from October 30 – November 1, 2020. Sami-Sabinsa Group Limited, a pioneer and global leader in health sciences, is a leading producer of nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals, standardized herbal extracts, fine chemicals, specialty chemicals, probiotics and enzymes.
There were 34 categories of awards which saw nominations from different fields of AYUSH. ASSOCHAM received more than 150 nominations for awards in different categories out of which 75 nominations were short listed across different categories. The nominations were selected by a jury of eminent persons.
The other companies which won the prestigious AYUSH awards include Amway (Best Nutraceutical Brand), Powell Group (Best Product of the Year in Holistic Medicine), Kudarati Ayurved (Best Product / Best Manufacturing) Bhoo Heart Ortho Swasthya Kendra (Best Ayurvedic Cardiac & Ortho Wellness Centre). The award was presented at the Council’s Annual Awards Dinner on November 11, 2004, at the Liberty Science Center, New Jersey. Sabinsa’s U.S. patent (No. 5,804,596) for ForsLean® was awarded this honor in the Consumer/Small Company category.
This is the second award for ForsLean® in the innovation arena. The product earlier won the Best New Product award in 2001 at Nutracon.
